I have to say, I’m actually kind of surprised that I made it this far. When I started using BrainEv, I almost persuaded myself AGAINST making this blog, thinking to myself “Ugh, I never finish these things- I’ll just give up after a week or two.” So I’m feeling pretty accomplished right now.
I’ll use my time tomorrow for the final Level I reflection (and then I’m on to Level II holy crap!), so in this post I’m just going to talk about how my final practice went.
I did a late afternoon practice as I usually do (when I’m not doing pre-sleep practice), and it went very well. I went into it feeling a little bit of dread and anxiety about my work life (things are kind of tough right now, but it makes using BrainEv all the more worthwhile), and doing the practice definitely helped erase/alleviate those feelings. Within 5 minutes I was fully relaxed and in a deep state of meditation.
I stayed consistently down, except for a brief moment of consciousness maybe 15-20 minutes in where I just felt gratitude and said “wow, this feels great” and continued along. It took me a few extra minutes to fully “wake up” after the audio ended, maybe 2-3 minutes, but I know I didn’t fall asleep and I woke up feeling nice and refreshed.
Overall, a great note to end Level I on!
After a really rough and depressing day at work, I spent my evening relaxing until about 9:30 when I went ahead and did my BrainEv practice.
At first, I had a lot of thoughts rushing around my mind- no surprise, especially given how my day went. As I started to gain control of my mind and slow down, I actually opened my eyes and checked how far into the practice I was- almost 5 minutes, meaning my “5 minutes to go ‘down'” theory is spot on. I began relaxing quickly after that.
I actually ended up falling asleep in the middle of the practice, which is something I haven’t done in a while, but I guess it’s exactly what my body/mind needed. I only slept for about 2 minutes after the audio ended, so I’m sure that the brainwaves coming back up to an alert state did indeed help draw me out of sleep.
An okay practice, but exactly what I needed after a sucky day. Looking forward to my last two days of Level 1 actual practice!
Today was a reflection day, which means that instead of using the brainwave audio (free download here), I sit in silent mindfulness meditation for around 10 minutes, and then spend some time reflecting on how BrainEv is working for me, my progress, my goals with the program, etc.
It was an incredibly busy day, so I did my mindfulness meditation while on the subway, which proved to have both good and bad aspects- the 10 minutes passed by very quickly, but once or twice I had to open my eyes because I was starting to feel disoriented. It was also a bit noisy for my taste, but not unmanageable.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with my progress in BrainEv so far- I have to keep in mind that it’s just Level 1, just halfway through, but things do feel good in the here and now. I’d say at least every other session has been really great, so that’s encouraging. Also, the goals that I set for myself during my first reflection are becoming more and more important to me as I’ve started my first full-time job in sales.
So far, so good! Let’s keep on progressing- I can’t wait for Level 2.
Okay, maybe I shouldn’t have put that title up in all caps. I wasn’t THAT exhausted.
Today was my first day at my new job- I’m doing sales at a big startup in Boston- and when I got home, I was wiped. Not only was I tired, but I also had a pretty bad headache.
Perfect time to unwind and relax with BrainEv!
So I settled down, put on my headphones, and after spending a few minutes awake and relaxing, fell asleep for the duration of my practice and a bit afterwards as well (like 5-10min past the end of the audio). It may not have been an amazing practice in terms of Brain Evolution System (although remember, falling asleep doesn’t mean I’m getting nothing out of it!), but it was exactly what my body/mind needed today.
I think as I adjust to my new job and work schedule, and learn how to better maximize my energy throughout the day, I’ll continue to improve with BrainEv. So far, so good- really enjoying the program.
